We recently caught up with TD SYNNEX, one of our largest technology occupiers at Chineham Park. They told us about their business, how they’re encouraging staff back to the office and what they enjoy most about Chineham Park.

Can you give us a brief overview of what TD SYNNEX does?

TD SYNNEX is a leading global distributor and solutions aggregator for the IT ecosystem. We work with all the leading IT companies – Apple, Amazon, Dell, Google, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo, Samsung and many others – and act as the link between them and the IT solutions providers up and down the country who meet the needs of end-user customers. While stocking and distributing hardware products is a major part of our business, we are also deeply involved in high growth areas, such as software, cloud, cybersecurity and AI, and enabling partners to deliver solutions and services around those technologies.

What is the primary use of your office at Chineham Park?

Chineham Park is the main sales and administrative centre for TD SYNNEX in the UK and Ireland. We have other offices including Bracknell and Warrington, and a warehouse location at Magna Park, near Lutterworth. But Chineham Park is our HQ and the nerve centre for our operations in the UK.

Do your staff enjoy coming to work?

We’d like to think that all our co-workers enjoy coming to work. The evidence suggests they do –  we’ve achieved Great Place to Work® in the UK for the last two years and we were recently included on the 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ list, in 15th position. When we moved into the Maplewood building two years ago, we took the opportunity to completely redesign and refurbish the environment to make it a really attractive, inclusive and sustainable place to work.

What have you added to your space to encourage staff back to the office?

As part of our Future Workplace plan and with a view to taking a step towards our net zero carbon goals, in 2022 we completely reinvented and enhanced our workspaces. Maplewood was comprehensively refurbished to include a wide variety of working and collaboration areas that support and encourage different co-worker activities and preferences. These include collaboration zones, agile working spaces, focus booths, casual meeting areas, project zones, a multi-faith room and a mother’s room, along with enhanced break-out and canteen facilities.

Do you get the opportunity to attend the community events hosted by the Chineham Park team? If yes, do you enjoy them?

Yes, we have taken that opportunity, and I think everyone enjoys coming together as part of the community. Some members of the marketing team have recently been involved in hanging basket making, for example, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Is there anything else you would like to add about TD SYNNEX or Chineham Park?

We have been established in Basingstoke for many years, so it feels like home and Chineham Park is an ideal location for our business. It has good transport links and plenty of parking. As well as being designed for optimum working and collaboration, it is also energy efficient, which is important for TD SYNNEX’s sustainability goals. The building has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of “B” and a BREEAM score of “Very good”. We have access to a number of e-charging points and we’ve invested in LED lighting and switched to net zero electricity suppliers to reduce energy consumption.
